Update from Monhegan Energy Task Force – February 25, 2018

Axiom Visit on Wednesday, February 28 to Explore Broadband

Representatives from Axiom Technologies and the University of Maine will be visiting Monhegan this coming week to begin evaluating the internet infrastructure on the island. They will arrive on island on Wednesday, February 28th and leave on the same day on the 2 PM ferry. They will be walking the island to learn more about the current internet service and start determining what is needed for a broadband network on the island. If anyone wants to join the group, you may meet with them at the wharf at boat time. This is part of CBAC agreement that calls for UM to provide direct technical assistance in supporting Monhegan and/or MPPD efforts to secure grant funding for a fully functional broadband network.
