    CBAC Releases Report and Recommendations - 10/03/17

    The Monhegan Community Benefits Advisory Committee (“CBAC”) was established in July 2016 by Plantation vote to:

    1. Aid in developing a community benefits agreement with Maine Aqua Ventus(“MAV”); and
    2. Make recommendations to the Monhegan Board of Assessors on a specific community benefits package and associated agreement with MAV.

    The Report provides CBAC’s written recommendations to the Assessors on a community benefits package and associated agreement with MAV.

    Community Benefits Agreement Advisory Committee (CBAC) Formation and Progress to Date

    On July 26, 2016, the Monhegan community registered voters gathered at the Church to vote on the following articles. All articles passed as written. At the next regularly scheduled monthly assessors meeting on August 9th, the advisory committee members were appointed by the assessors. Members are:

    Tara Hire, First assessor
    Greg Rollins, Third assessor
    Chris Smith, MPPD representative
    Members at large include: Jaye Morency, Winnie Murdock, Fred Faller, and Amy Zaref
